Is there a Chrome extension that automatically applies Walmart promo codes?

Ive been using browser extensions for years to save a few bucks here and there, usually sticking with the big ones like Honey or Rakuten and they usually do the trick. But lately, Ive been having the most annoying time with Walmart.com. Im trying to get all my back-to-school shopping done for the kids before next Tuesday—living in a small town in Ohio means Walmart is basically my only option for getting everything in one go—and Im really trying to keep this whole haul under $250.

The weird thing is that Honey just seems to give up on the Walmart checkout page now. It used to work fine, but now it either doesnt pop up at all or it runs through like twenty codes and says none of them work, even when I can literally see a 10% off banner on the homepage for new accounts or whatever. I even tried Capital One Shopping because people said it was better for big retailers, but its the same story. Its like Walmart changed their sites backend or the way the promo code field is nested in the DOM because the auto-fill just hangs there and then just errors out.

Ive tried a few things to fix it:

  • clearing my cache and cookies
  • disabling other extensions to avoid conflicts
  • using an incognito window

None of that worked. Its super frustrating because I know there are codes out there, but I dont have the patience to manually copy and paste 50 different strings of random letters from those sketchy coupon aggregator sites that are 90% spam anyway. I need something that actually recognizes the Walmart checkout flow reliably and doesnt just spin its wheels.

Does anyone know of a specific Chrome extension thats actually optimized for Walmart right now? Or maybe a lesser-known one that handles their specific checkout scripts better than the mainstream ones?

@Reply #1 - good point! I was literally screaming at my laptop last week trying to get a huge order through. Honey just completely died on me too. I love hunting for deals and I actually dug into why this happens... Walmart basically buried their promo field in a weird nested container that messes with most auto-fill scripts. It is so annoying when it just hangs there! I found that the RetailMeNot extension actually works way better for me lately cuz it seems to handle those specific site updates faster. Seriously, its amazing how much better it picks up those hidden 10% off codes! To make sure youre actually getting the best deal on those school supplies, you should definitely check this Walmart price tracker before you hit buy. I used it to track some stuff for my kids and saved a ton cuz the price dropped right before I checked out. Ngl, seeing that price drop alert is such a rush... definitely worth a shot!

> Honey just seems to give up on the Walmart checkout page now. Ugh, I totally feel your pain! Walmarts site is notoriously glitchy with those big extensions lately and it drives me crazy too. I switched over to Coupert a few months back and its been absolutely amazing! It actually handles the weird way Walmart nests their checkout fields way better than Honey does right now. I managed to snag a 15 percent discount on some school supplies last week which was a huge win. It is seriously a lifesaver when youre trying to stay under a strict budget like that. Love it because it doesnt just sit there spinning its wheels forever... it actually finds stuff that works! Definitely give that one a try before you finish your haul. If youre looking to save some cash, PriceDropCatch is great for tracking electronics prices at Walmart.
