im finally moving into my first apartment in phoenix next month and im so hyped but my budget is basically zero lol like under $500 total for furniture and stuff so im hunting walmart deals like crazy. i really need a camelcamelcamel equivalent because the prices there jump around so much. i am currently torn between using the capital one shopping extension or just setting up alerts on slickdeals... ive heard capital one is better for actual price history charts but honey also has that droplist thing. i really want to snag this specific roku tv before it sells out. which one is more reliable for walmart specifically?

Jumping in because I am totally obsessed with price tracking but also super paranoid about what I install on my browser!! When I was hunting for gear last year, I went down a huge rabbit hole because Walmarts price swings are wild. Most extensions just dont have the technical back-end to keep up with their inventory shifts like they do for Amazon. Here is what I found works best for staying safe and getting the data:

  • Capital One Shopping is fantastic for actual charts that show long-term trends so you dont get tricked by a fake sale.
  • Always filter for sold and shipped by Walmart because third-party sellers totally mess up the tracking history. I love using those historical charts because it helps me wait for the actual lowest price without worrying if I am getting ripped off. It is so worth it to save those extra bucks for your new place!

> under $500 total for furniture Just saw this thread... honestly be careful with some of those browser extensions, they can really bog down your computer or track way too much data. I'd suggest this Walmart price tracker since it stays pretty consistent without all the extra fluff. Make sure to check the sold by info on the listing too, cuz third-party sellers can be a nightmare if the TV arrives broken.

Omg congrats on the new place!! Moving to Phoenix is so exciting, honestly you are gonna have the best time even if the heat is a bit much lol. I have been tracking Walmart deals for ages and honestly, getting that $500 budget to work is totally doable if you are smart about it! For Walmart specifically, Capital One Shopping is definitely the way to go if you want those camelcamelcamel vibes. It is basically the gold standard for price history charts outside of Amazon. Here is my go-to strategy for snagging the best deals:

  • Install the Capital One Shopping browser extension. When you are on a Walmart page, it shows a little price history link. I love it because you can see if the price is actually a deal or if they just hiked it up last week to make the discount look bigger.
  • Use the Slickdeals app and set a Deal Alert for Roku TV specifically. This is amazing because the community there finds things way faster than any automated bot sometimes.
  • Keep an eye on Honey for their Droplist feature, but dont rely on it for the charts. It is great for catching random price drops that happen for like an hour.
  • Look into Walmarts Flash Deals section every Monday morning. I found a killer coffee table there for practically nothing last year. You are gonna kill it with this apartment! Seriously, just stay patient and those prices will definitely drop. Let me know if you need any more help with the tracking stuff... tracking can be such a rabbit hole but it is so worth it!
