What are the absolute must-have accessories for a new Nikon Z6 II because I just got one and I'm honestly overwhelmed by all the options out there. I'm going on a big trip to Italy next month and I saved up for like a year to buy the camera and the 24-70mm lens but now I realized I probably need other things to make it actually work right?

I'm a total beginner so sorry if these are really basic questions but I saw something about memory cards and they're so expensive?? Like do I need the super fast ones or can I just use a regular one from my old point and shoot? And then people talk about extra batteries but the camera comes with one so is that not enough for a whole day of walking around Rome? I also saw people talking about lens filters to protect the glass and I'm terrified of scratching it since it cost so much money.

I've only got about $250 left in my budget for now after buying the kit so I can't go too crazy but I don't want to get to Italy and realize I can't take any pictures because I forgot a specific cable or something. Also do I need a special bag or can I just wrap it in a t-shirt in my backpack? I really have no idea what is actually essential versus just extra fluff that stores try to sell you...

Late to the thread but honestly, I spent way too much time worrying about scratches on my first trip. I was terrified of bumping my lens in narrow alleys. Getting a filter felt way safer and it works well enough for basic protection.

Congrats on the Z6 II. Honestly, dont use those old point-and-shoot cards. They are way too slow and might fail or cause errors when saving photos. Since you are on a budget, stick to a high-quality SD card for now instead of those pricey CFexpress ones.

Like someone mentioned, keeping your gear safe is everything! I once dropped a lens because my hands were sweaty in the heat. Total disaster. You should definitely get a Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap SLL-BK-3 for that trip. Its fantastic for all-day carrying and wont slip! Also, a Giottos Rocket Air Blaster is amazing for cleaning dust without touching the glass. These are cheap but essential. Have an amazing time in Italy!
