Ive been a D850 user for years and honestly never had issues until my last shoot where my buffer just stalled for like ten seconds mid-burst. It was super embarrassing and now Im terrified for this big wedding Im shooting in Chicago next Saturday. Im still using these older 64GB Lexar XQD cards but they feel sluggish now and I think they might be dying. I need the fastest, most reliable options that wont break the bank but also wont fail during the ceremony. My budget is around $300 for a couple new cards.
- Sony G Series XQD?
- ProGrade Digital?
- Delkin Black?
Whats the absolute gold standard for the D850 right now so I dont lose files?

You definitely want to update your firmware first to support CFexpress. I would suggest going with the Delkin Devices 128GB BLACK CFexpress Type B because they are tanks and wont fail on you. Just be careful with your backup SD card... if its slow, it will kill your buffer speed regardless of the main card. Make sure to get a Sony SF-G Tough Series 64GB SDXC UHS-II to keep everything moving fast.

You gotta jump on the CFexpress train if you want to keep that buffer moving for a Chicago wedding! To add to the point above: grab ProGrade Digital 165GB CFexpress Type B Cobalt! Its sustained write speed is amazing and totally keeps your buffer clear. Truly fantastic performance, you wont regret it!
