I honestly have no clue what I'm doing and I'm getting so annoyed trying to hold this Fuji X-E4. It's so tiny and slippery and I feel like I'm gonna drop it every time I try to take a photo. Everyone online says you need essentials for street photography but there are so many options and I'm totally lost. I'm going to London next Tuesday and I really want to be ready but I've only got about $100 left after buying the camera.
Sorry if these are dumb questions I just have no idea where to start...
i totally get the frustration with the x-e4 being slippery. it really does feel like a bar of soap and i was terrified of dropping mine when i first got it. i would suggest starting with a thumb rest to give your hand a secure pivot point. the JJC TA-XE4 Thumb Up Grip for Fujifilm X-E4 is affordable and makes it much easier to hold one-handed without spending a fortune. for the strap, the Peak Design Leash Camera Strap Black is great because it is thin but very secure. i wouldn't trust the flimsy one that came in the box. be careful with the batteries tho... cheap ones can swell up and get stuck. the Fujifilm NP-W126S Li-Ion Battery is the most reliable option for your trip. make sure everything is tightened down before you hit the streets in london.
^ This. Also, totally feel you on the bar of soap vibe with the X-E4. It looks gorgeous but the ergonomics are basically non-existent from the factory. Before I dump some specs on you, what lens are you actually rocking for London? If you have a heavy f/1.4 prime on there, the balance is gonna be way different than if you are using the tiny 27mm pancake lens. Since you are on a $100 budget, you gotta be smart about the tech specs vs price to get the most bang for your buck.
Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
