I'm looking for recommendations on the best SD card to use with it. I'll be shooting both photos and 4K video.
What brands and specs of SD cards work well in the X-T30 II? I want something fast and reliable.
Should I go with UHS-I or UHS-II? And what capacity would you recommend - 64GB, 128GB or larger?
Any advice from X-T30 II owners is much appreciated!
@Reply #3 - good point! I actually spent ages obsessing over this when I first got my X-T30 II because losing photos is my absolute worst nightmare! I once had a cheap card corrupt on a trip to the mountains and it was totally heartbreaking losing all those memories... literally wanted to cry lol. Now I'm super careful and only use stuff thats rated for tough conditions.
Regarding what #3 said about "Great info, saved!" - yeah, knowing the bus interface limits is key. Since the X-T30 II doesnt even have the pins for UHS-II, youll never get those 300MB/s speeds anyway. V30 is the technical standard you need to keep up with that 200Mbps 4K bitrate. Heres how the tech stacks up across different brands in my experience:
Late to the party but gotta chime in because I've actually been pretty disappointed with the big name brands lately. Everyone says SanDisk is the gold standard but unfortunately, I've had two of their newer cards start delaminating on me after just a few months... super annoying when you're mid-shoot. They just weren't as good as expected for the premium price. I ended up grabbing the Kingston Canvas Go! Plus 128GB SDXC UHS-I V30 on a whim and honestly, it’s been way more reliable for way less money. It handles the 4K video on my X-T30 II without breaking a sweat. Quick tip tho
X-T30 II currently not supports UHS-II SD cards, so get a fast UHS-I SD is enough, for example: SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-I V30
Helpful thread 👍
Great info, saved!
Any UHS-I V30 cards are OK for X-T30II.
