I recently purchased a Fujifilm X100VI and I'm looking for recommendations on the best SD card to use with this camera. I want to ensure that I have a reliable and fast card that can keep up with the camera's capabilities.

What SD cards do you recommend for the Fujifilm X100VI? I'm looking for something that offers a good balance between speed, reliability, and capacity.

Try this card: SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory Card - C10, U3, V30

^ This. Also, I'm pretty satisfied with my current setup even though the slot speed is a bit of a letdown. I did some informal testing a few weeks ago to see what worked best for those 40MP files.

  • Compared a few different brands and found that the ones I am using now are way more consistent.
  • My previous brand used to give me occasional write errors when the camera got warm, but these have been solid.
  • Even without the extra pins, the higher-rated cards I got seem to clear the buffer just a bit faster in real-world use. Honestly works well for me and I havent had any issues with lag during playback or anything... definitely worth sticking to the pro-grade stuff even if the camera cant use the full speed.

Lexar SD cards are also great for X100Vi: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Lexar+Professional+Mirrorless+Cameras+LSD1066256G+BNNNU&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50

Regarding what #3 said about "It's a shame that X100VI don't supports UHS-II..." - i actually disagree that we should just stick to basic cards because of the slot speed. In my experience over the years, the physical build quality of high-end cards is just better. Ive tried many and honestly, the peace of mind you get from a pro-grade card is worth it even if the camera slot is the bottleneck. I am a bit of a stickler for data safety so i always over-spec my gear. Here are the ones i trust for my own kit:

  • Sony TOUGH SF-G Series 64GB UHS-II V90
  • Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 The Sony Tough ones are basically tank-proof. No little plastic ribs to break off and get stuck in your card slot, which has happened to me before with cheaper brands. It might seem like overkill since you aren't getting the full write speed in-camera, but for me it is all about that reliability. Plus, moving those huge 40MP files to the computer is way faster with a UHS-II reader. Just my way of doing things tho... i'd rather be safe than sorry.

It's a shame that X100VI don't supports UHS-II V90 cards.
