Ive been chasing Fuji releases since the original X100 came out years ago and if there is one thing Ive learned, its that those retail dates are rarely set in stone. Adoramas system usually just auto-updates based on what the manufacturer tells them, but in my experience, those shipments often get delayed at customs or split up into tiny batches that dont cover even half the waitlist. I have seen plenty of people make the same mistakes every single launch cycle:

• Canceling a different pre-order because a new date looks faster.
• Planning a paid gig or trip around a specific shipping date that isnt 100 percent confirmed.
• Ignoring smaller local shops that usually get separate allocations from the big box guys. From a performance perspective, the X100VI is a beast once you actually have it, but dont let the hype drive you into making bad buying decisions. If you see a ship date that looks too good to be true while everyone else is backordered for months... it probably is just a placeholder. Just stay patient and keep your other options open so you dont end up empty handed when June 1st rolls around and the status suddenly changes to backordered again.

So why third party price of X100VI at Amazon still over $2500 ?

late to the party here but honestly those stock dates are usually just placeholders most of the time. before you pull the trigger though i gotta ask a couple things:

• are you strictly looking for the x100vi for that hybrid viewfinder or just for the fuji colors?
• have you checked if any local shops have a waitlist or are you only looking at the big guys like adorama? fuji is great but the hype train is exhausting compared to how easy it is to grab a ricoh or a sony lately... i actually spent my whole morning digging through my closet for my old film gear. found a roll of portra 400 that expired back in 2018 and im kinda hyped to see if it still looks decent or just totally washed out. anyway but yeah.
