@egg990 - good point! I definitely agree with that late 24 or early 25 window. I would suggest being pretty cautious with your planning if you are holding out for this specific release tho. I learned a tough lesson with my current setup. I held off on buying a stabilizer for almost six months because I was convinced the smaller version was right around the corner. By the time it actually launched:

  • I had already missed several big shooting windows where the larger model would have worked just fine.
  • The weight limit on the one I eventually got was way tighter than I anticipated once I swapped to a heavier lens.
  • Software compatibility for newer camera bodies sometimes lags behind the main pro releases by a few months. Make sure to check if your gear is actually gonna be compatible before you skip the standard version. Sometimes the mini line ends up being a bit too restrictive for professional work once you add monitors or heavier cage setups... just my experience from being stuck with gear that couldnt handle my daily workflow.

> Regarding what #2 said about "@egg990 - good point! I definitely agree with..." i actually disagree about holding out for the rs 4 mini at all. honestly, i had issues with the DJI RS 3 Mini when it launched and it just wasnt as good as expected. i remember lugging it around for a week-long shoot in italy thinking it would save my wrists, but the motors struggled with anything other than a tiny prime lens. it was super disappointing compared to the full-size units. if youre trying to be smart with your money, id skip the wait and just grab a DJI RS 3 or even a used DJI RS 2 right now. you get way more power and actual pro features for basically the same price as a new mini would cost. Quick tips:

  • buy used pro-grade gear instead of new entry-level stuff
  • always check motor torque specs, not just max payload
