So i finally pulled the trigger on a dji air 3 and im super hyped to take it to the rockies next week for a hiking trip. ive been reading about the v30 vs v60 thing and i really dont want to deal with that annoying slow sd card warning right when im trying to catch a sunset or something. i mostly do 4k at 60fps but might mess around with the 100fps slow mo too so i need something that wont stutter.

i checked amazon and im basically stuck between three choices right now. first is the sandisk extreme pro 256gb cuz everyone says its the gold standard but then i saw the samsung pro ultimate which is actually a bit cheaper right now and looks faster on paper? also considering the lexar 1066x silver series since i saw a bundle deal on it.

my budget is like 50 or 60 bucks total for maybe two cards because i want a backup just in case one fails or i fill it up mid-hike. is the sandisk actually more reliable or is the samsung just as stable for dji firmware? im leaning towards the samsung because of the price but i dont want it to glitch out during a long flight... what do you guys think is the most reliable for high bitrate 4k on these drones?

To add to the point above, unfortunately I have had some pretty frustrating issues with Lexar lately. They used to be top tier but the newer silver series cards have been glitchy for me during high bitrate 4k recording. I actually had a Lexar Professional 1066x 128GB microSDXC SILVER Series fail during a sunset shoot and lost the whole file. Its just not worth the risk imo and was honestly such a letdown. If you want to save some cash and still get reliability, check out the Kingston Canvas Go! Plus 128GB microSDXC V30. You can usually grab two for under 40 bucks which leaves you extra for a nice case or something. Quick question tho, how many hours of footage are you actually planning to shoot each day? If you're doing lots of 100fps slow-mo, that 4k data rate is gonna eat through storage way faster than you expect... might want to rethink the 128gb vs 256gb split if you arent backing up nightly.

I grabbed two Samsung PRO Ultimate 256GB microSDXC cards for my last trip and they handled the 100fps slow mo without any stuttering.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
