How do I share an Amazon shopping list with my partner?

I'm freaking out because our housewarming party is this Saturday and I need my husband to help with the Amazon order before the shipping cutoff tonight. I tried looking this up and read that you can just send a link, but when I did that it seemed like he could only view the items and not actually add his own stuff to the list?? I also saw some old post about an invite to edit button but I swear it's not showing up on my iPhone app at all. Is this feature hidden somewhere weird or did they remove it? I just need us both to be able to add and delete stuff in real time so we don't buy two of everything...

I agree that the link method is the way to go, it works so well for my family. Just one small thing to check:

  • Look for the Invite button at the top right
  • Make sure you toggle it to View and Edit before sending
  • Text that specific link to him No complaints here, it handles real-time stuff perfectly once that is set.

Like someone mentioned, the toggle really is the key because it updates the permission string on the backend. If your iPhone app is bugging out and hiding the invite button, its likely just a UI rendering glitch. Try logging in through Safari and requesting the desktop version of the page. It forces the full list management tools to load. From a budget perspective, make sure you guys are checking the Other Sellers section on those party supplies. Sometimes the default Add to List choice is the most expensive Prime option, but you can save a decent amount by picking a different vendor. Also, if you guys set up an Amazon Household instead of using separate accounts, the syncing is way more stable. It stops that annoying database lag where you both accidentally buy the same thing before the list refreshes... definitely saves money and stress.
