Does anyone know if there is a reliable way to generate a single link that pre-fills an Amazon shopping cart with multiple specific items? I am trying to put together a virtual gift basket list for my extended family reunion next month and I want to make it as easy as possible for my grandma and some of my less tech-savvy aunts to just click once and have everything ready to go. I have about 8 items in mind, mostly small kitchen gadgets and spices that total around 60 bucks.
I spent a couple hours last night looking for a solution and I found some stuff about the Amazon Associates SiteStripe tool, but that only seems to work for individual items one at a time, which isnt what I need. I also saw some old blog posts from a few years ago talking about building a custom URL using ASIN numbers and quantities, but when I tried to follow the format, it just kept giving me a 404 error or it would only add the first item and ignore the rest of the list.
It feels like this should be a standard feature for sharing lists but maybe Amazon makes it hard on purpose? I am not a developer so I really dont want to mess with API keys or anything like that if I can help it. Does anyone have a workaround or maybe a third-party site that still works in 2024 for this kind of thing? I really need to get this link sent out by the weekend so everyone has time to buy their stuff before the party...
I went through a similar process last year while organizing a supply drive for a local project. Safety was a big concern for me regarding those manual URL hacks, as I didnt want to mess up anyones account or lead them to a broken page. After testing various options, I found a much more reliable method that doesnt require any coding knowledge, which made me feel much more comfortable about the whole thing. Here is why my current setup has worked so well:
