Finally upgraded to an a7iv for my cousin's wedding this weekend and man, the burst speed is wild. But my old cards are literally choking on the buffer and I cant keep shooting. Need something super fast and reliable that won't blow my $200 budget. What V90 cards are you guys running for fast action?

Are you shooting uncompressed raw? My ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V90 128GB saved me last month, but buffer lag still kills shots. Be careful.

If you switch to Lossless Compressed RAW on the a7iv, your buffer stays open way longer without any real loss in image quality. I have been super satisfied with how my cards handle that specific setting. If you want to stay under that 200 buck limit, you actually have some killer options that perform just as well as the expensive Sony stuff. Here is what I have been using with zero issues:
- Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB UHS-II V90 is basically the king of value right now. I am getting consistent 260MB/s write speeds which handles the a7iv bursts like a champ. These usually go for around 100 dollars.
- Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 is another one I am very happy with. It usually comes with its own UHS-II reader too, which is a nice bonus for offloading.
- Sabrent Rocket SDXC UHS-II V90 128GB is a bit of a sleeper pick but the tech specs are solid. I have had no complaints using these for fast action. Tbh, v90 is the only way to go for weddings. Just avoid those cheap V60 cards if you plan on leaning on the shutter. Also, make sure you format the card in-camera before the shoot to keep the file system clean. Good luck with the wedding, that camera is a beast!
