So I finally upgraded to the S5II for my video work and I am looking at battery grips because I have got a long outdoor wedding shoot coming up in late June. I was looking at the official Panasonic BGS5 but man its like 350 bucks which feels like a total rip off for what it is. I saw some cheaper options on Amazon like the Mcoplus one but then I read a few reviews saying the shutter button feels super mushy and it might not be weather sealed at all. My logic was to save money for a new prime lens but I dont want my camera dying in the Seattle rain if the seal is bad. Is the official one actually worth the premium or is there a middle ground I missed...

  • Grab the official Panasonic DMW-BGS5 Battery Grip!
  • Cheap ones skip the rubber gasket seal and IP52 rating, which is basically a disaster in Seattle rain!
