• ngl that would be a total bummer if true. I've been checking rumor sites every morning for like six months now and the lack of news is just exhausting. I'm in the exact same spot... just stuck in limbo with my old gear because I cant find a solid answer anywhere. Just curious tho, what are you actually looking for in the III? Like are you wanting the smaller body or is it more about the sensor tech? Heres why I'm getting pretty fed up:
• The Z8 is way too bulky for my hiking trips
• Canon is already onto the Canon EOS R5 Mark II and it looks amazing
• Nikon just seems to have forgotten about the dedicated high-res slim bodies It's honestly disappointing because I've always loved the ergonomics of the Z7 line but right now it feels like they want us to just buy a Z8 and deal with the weight. Not exactly what I was hoping for after years of loyalty... been dealing with this indecision for way too long now.

Saw this earlier but just getting a chance to chime in. @Reply #6 - good point but honestly i disagree that the Z8 is the answer here. its actually kinda ridiculous that nikon thinks everyone can just jump to a massive expensive body. i bought my Nikon Z7 II because it was supposed to be a solid practical choice but now i feel stuck. it drives me crazy how these companies just stop caring about the enthusiasts who dont want a pro-sized rig. basically feels like were being forced into overpaying for features we dont even need just to get decent resolution. its such a scam that we have to wait years for a refresh while prices keep climbing and the gear gets heavier. im just so tired of being in limbo while they push these $4k monsters on us... its really frustrating for those of us who just want a solid practical upgrade without the bulk. nikon really needs to wake up and realize not everyone wants a brick in their camera bag.

I don't think there will be a Z7 III, may be it is already replaced by Nikon Z8.
