honestly nikon really needs to catch up to what fujifilm is doing with their high end aps-c bodies if they want to keep people interested. nikon rumors or thom hogans bythom site are my go-to spots for technical breakdowns because they are usually spot on with the roadmaps. im actually really happy with my current gear tho, it works well for all my weekend trips. last week i was out camping in the ozarks trying to get some long exposures of a creek. the water was so clear you could see the crawdads under the rocks. forgetting my tripod plate in the truck meant i had to balance the camera on a flat rock and some moss. it actually worked out great and i spent the rest of the night just staring at the stars and thinking about how quiet it gets out there. its crazy how much you miss when youre stuck in the city all week. anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there

While Nikon hasn't officially announced anything yet, I wouldn't be surprised if they release a high-end APS-C Z-mount camera like the rumored Z70 in the near future. With the success of the Sony a6700 and Canon EOS R7, Nikon likely feels the pressure to offer a competitive option in this segment. They already have the Z50 and Z fc, but a more advanced model with better features would make sense to round out their APS-C mirrorless lineup.

Since latest rumors suggests that Z50 II will be released in late 2024 to early 2025. So higher-end Z70 could be released in 2026.
