so i finally got the fujifilm x-s20 for my trip to Italy next month and im so pumped but totally lost lol. sorry if this is basic but what do i actually need? my budget is around $150 for extras.
any ideas...
Honestly, most people forget about the card speeds and it's kinda disappointing when your camera locks up right when you need it. I had issues with my old V30 cards on the X-S20... the buffer is just not as good as expected if you aren't using UHS-II. It feels like a waste of a good sensor tbh. You should definitely grab a SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II 128GB V60 so you dont miss shots while the camera is busy writing data. Also, bags are tricky. I tried some cheap generic ones and they were basically useless for padding. The Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L Black is way better for walking around cities like Rome... fits the body and a prime lens perfectly without looking like a huge dorky camera bag. Definitely worth the extra cash.
Just saw this. Like someone mentioned, batteries are non-negotiable but the official ones are pricey. Over the years ive found SmallRig NP-W235 USB-C Rechargeable Camera Battery works great and you can charge it directly with a phone cable... super handy for Italy. Instead of an expensive bag, maybe just grab a Tenba BYOB 9 Camera Insert to save some cash. TL;DR: Get USB-C batteries and a bag insert.
Man, congrats on the X-S20. Italy is incredible but honestly, you gotta be careful with your gear there. Florence years ago was a wake-up call when my only battery died right as the sun hit the Duomo... totally ruined my night. One is never enough, even with the newer batteries Fuji uses now. Focusing on these basics should keep you under that 150 budget:
Good to know!
