sorry if this is a dumb question but I have no idea how people do this. my roommate and i are furnishing our first place in Chicago next week and we need a way to shop together on Amazon.
is there an app for that?...
I have to agree with the previous point. Unfortunately, the collaborative tools on the app are not as good as expected for serious furnishing projects. I had issues with the list syncing before and it was quite frustrating. 1. Managing costs is difficult when you accidentally double-buy items because the cart isnt shared.
> Re: "You gotta use the Amazon List feature! It..." While that works for saving items, you should be aware that lists and carts are technically separate systems on the back end. When your roommate moves an item from your shared list to their cart, it disappears from the list for you. This can make it hard to track what has actually been ordered versus what is still being considered. For a more synchronized approach, look into Cart To Link since it allows you to share an actual cart state rather than just a static list. Its a decent option if you dont want to keep jumping back and forth between lists and the checkout screen. Also, make sure you set the list permissions to Shared instead of Private or Public to ensure the real-time syncing works correctly on iPhone... sometimes the iOS app caches old data if the permissions are wonky.
You gotta use the Amazon List feature! It handles real-time backend syncing perfectly so you both see updates instantly on iOS. Its honestly amazing for moving!!
