so i finally pulled the trigger on the mavic 3 pro with the fly more combo and oh my god the camera quality is just insane i cant even believe the detail on the telephoto lens. i have a big trip coming up to iceland in about three weeks and i am super paranoid about the airlines or just general travel banging it around. i need a solid hard case like yesterday. i have been looking around and doing some reading but honestly im stuck between a few options and cant decide whats actually going to fit everything without being a total brick to carry around. my budget is around 200 bucks maybe a bit more if its really worth it.
i saw some people swearing by the nanuk 925 specifically for the mavic 3 series but then i read a couple reviews saying the foam cutouts are a bit tight for the new rc pro controller and i dont want to be jamming my gear in there and risking the sticks getting bent or something. then there is the gpc (go professional) case which looks super legit but i saw one guy on a different forum saying the foam started flaking after a few months of heavy use which sounds like a nightmare for the motors. plus some of these cases look huge. i need something that can actually fit in an overhead bin or under a seat if possible because no way am i checking this thing.
im also considering just getting a pelican 1510 with the trekpak system because i like the idea of moving things around later if i get more batteries or filters but is that overkill? i really want something waterproof and basically bombproof because we are going to be doing some light hiking near waterfalls and the mist is no joke. what are you guys actually using for the pro model especially with the extra lenses and the bigger controller? do i go for the pre-cut foam or try to DIY it with a blank case?...
Jumping in... are you taking a tablet or just the RC? I been really happy with HPRC 2400 for DJI Mavic 3 Pro lately.
^ This. Also, we have Nanuk and HPRC on the list now. I'd be careful with the Pelican 1510 Case with TrekPak because it's a total tank for hiking. You might want to consider the Pelican Air 1485 Case instead; it's way lighter for Iceland. Also, the Lykus Titan M320 Case for DJI Mavic 3 Pro is a solid budget choice. Just make sure those seals are perfect before hitting the waterfalls.
Congrats on the new drone! Ive tested several setups for the Mavic 3 Pro and the Nanuk 925 Case for DJI Mavic 3 Pro is fantastic for travel. Its incredibly rugged and fits overhead bins perfectly.
Nice, didn't know that
