What tripods are you guys actually using with the Z series bodies that dont feel like a total compromise?
Ive been shooting with DSLRs for fifteen years and my old Manfrotto legs were rock solid but I just switched over to a Z8 and Z9 for a wildlife project in the Rockies next month and suddenly nothing feels right. The center of gravity feels weirdly off and my old ball head is creeping like crazy with the 100-400mm S lens attached which is driving me insane. I have about 800 bucks to spend and my main requirements are:
Spec sheets are just lying to me at this point...
Unfortunately most carbon fiber legs are just too flimsy for the Z9. I had issues with micro-vibrations because the torsion rigidity was trash. Specs are totally misleading regarding real-world load capacity.
I grabbed the Innorel RT90C Carbon Fiber Tripod for my Z9 kit. It stays stable and saves a ton of money. TL;DR: 40mm leg diameters stop that lens creep.
