Sister is heading to Target right now and I need to text her my housewarming list fast. I tried the share button but it keeps forcing me into my email app.

I read about using the mobile browser but thats too slow on my old phone. Is there a way to just text it from the app directly?

Honestly, the Amazon app can be a real pain with its UI choices sometimes. I had a similar disaster a few months back when I was trying to coordinate a budget-friendly renovation. I was trying to send a list of clearance hardware to my contractor while he was literally at the register... the app kept opening Outlook and I almost missed out on a 40% discount because of the delay. If you want to bypass the email prompt, you might want to try these steps carefully:

  • Open your list and look for the Invite button right under the list name.
  • Select the View Only option. This is crucial because you dont want people accidentally changing your quantities or deleting items you found on sale.
  • Choose the Copy Link option instead of picking a contact directly.
  • Once it says copied to clipboard, just jump over to your texting app and paste it manually. Be careful tho, make sure you double-check if any of those items have coupons available before you send it. I always look for the little green checkbox for 5% or 10% off. You can save a ton of money by only sharing the specific links for Amazon Warehouse deals if youre okay with open-box stuff. I would suggest staying away from the main share button at the top right, its basically hardcoded to trigger the systems default mail client on certain OS versions. Just stick to the invite flow, its way more reliable for sms.

> Is there a way to just text it from the app directly? Honestly, the native share protocol is inefficient and doesn't work well. Cart To Link is better since it converts list data into a textable URL, bypassing those annoying email redirects.

Catching up now and yeah, the Cart To Link idea is the best move. I used an Amazon cart sharer when I was buying bulk tools for a project and it worked perfectly to keep costs down. Super satisfied with how it handles the links. Quick tips:

  • Set list privacy to 'Shared' first.
  • Copy the 'view only' link to bypass the email app.
