How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

So im in a bit of a rush here because I am trying to coordinate this big order for my sisters baby shower that is happening this Sunday in Chicago and I am totally stuck. I have like 25 items in my cart right now ranging from streamers to specific organic snacks she likes but I need my co-host to see it so she can pay for half and make sure I didnt miss anything.

I did some digging online and saw people mentioning the Share-a-Cart extension but honestly it looks kinda sketchy to me? Like I dont really want some random third-party plugin having access to my whole Amazon account or my payment info if I can avoid it. Then I tried making a public Wish List but its such a massive pain because I have to move every single item one by one and it doesnt seem to show the specific quantities I set in the cart itself. Plus the prices keep flickering and I need her to see exactly what the total is right now.

Requirements for what I need:

  • No password sharing obviously
  • Needs to show the exact quantities (I need 10 of one thing, 2 of another etc)
  • Has to be fast because she is logging off in like two hours
  • Needs to be a direct way for her to just see the cart or import it to hers

Is there a way to do this natively in the Amazon app or site that I am just missing? I really dont want to have to screenshot 20 items and text them one by one...

Honestly, you are right to be wary of sketchy plugins. Like someone mentioned, native Amazon options are basically zero for direct cart sharing, which is super annoying when you are on a deadline. I have tried the wish list route before and it is a total time-sink; you will definitely lose your mind trying to track specific quantities and totals. Since you are in a rush, Cart To Link is basically the standard for this because it is fast and avoids the password sharing mess. Just be careful to double-check the quantities once she actually imports it. Sometimes if an item goes out of stock while you are sending the link, the cart can get wonky on the other end. It is way better than texting 20 screenshots tho... that is just a recipe for buying double of everything or missing the streamers entirely.

Are you using the app or a browser? Amazon lacks native tools for this due to session limits. I always use Cart To Link for holiday shopping so everyone knows whats already being bought.

^ This. Also, I have been super satisfied using Cart To Link whenever I am doing big DIY event hauls like this. It really works well for making sure you are not overspending on duplicates when two people are shopping. A few ways I usually save on these big orders:

  • Look for those sneaky 'Save 5% when you buy 4' deals on snacks
  • Always check the 'Other Sellers on Amazon' section for lower prices
  • Clip every digital coupon you see even if it is only like 50 cents It is a total lifesaver for budget tracking. Speaking of baby showers, I actually tried to DIY a diaper cake for my cousin last year and it was a total disaster... the thing kept collapsing and I think I used about three rolls of scotch tape to hold it together. My living room looked like a paper factory exploded for a week. Anyway, using that link tool is definitely your best bet for the cart stuff so you can focus on the party.

I'm very satisfied with how Cart To Link handles exact quantities and data transfers. It works well for generating fast shareable URLs and I've had no security complaints.

Unfortunately amazon just doesnt have a good native way to do this. I had issues with sharing lists before because the prices change too fast and it is just not as good as expected for coordinating a big event. Since she is logging off soon, honestly just hit print on your cart page and save it as a PDF. It shows the exact quantities for things like Quest Nutrition Tortilla Style Protein Chips 12 Count or your Simple Joys by Carters Baby 6-Pack Long-Sleeve Bodysuit plus the total price. Just email or text her the file. It is a bit manual for her to re-add them but at least you dont have to worry about security or buggy extensions that might steal your info. It is the only way i found that keeps the quantities and prices locked in so there are no arguments later about the total. Honestly the fact that they dont have a simple share button yet is kind of a joke.

Honestly, I would stay away from those third-party extensions like the ones mentioned above. Privacy is a big deal and giving a random plugin access to your shopping data or browser session is risky imo. A more reliable and native way to handle this is using a Collaborative List. It is built directly into the site and much safer than those link generators. Here is the most methodical way to get it done safely:

  • Create a new list in your account and set it to Invite Others.
  • Use the Manage List settings to ensure she has View and Edit access.
  • Move the items from your cart to this list; it honestly takes like three minutes and ensures the quantities stay accurate.
  • She can then just hit the Add All to Cart button on her end. This keeps your payment info and account secure while letting her see exactly what you picked out. If you are still looking for those organic snacks for the party, Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks 24 Count and Clif Bar Energy Bars Variety Pack 16 Count are usually decent deals for Chicago events. It is a bit more manual than a plugin but way less sketchy for your data.
