So I finally bit the bullet and bought an M11 after years of wanting one but honestly I am already kind of regretting how much I spent because the ergonomics are just... not what I expected. Like its a beautiful slab of brass and glass but it feels like I'm holding a wet bar of soap half the time and I am terrified I'm gonna drop it on the pavement here in London. I spent literally all my savings on the body and a 35mm Summicron and now I'm seeing that every little piece of metal or leather Leica sells costs like four hundred quid which is just insane to me.
I'm trying to get ready for a trip to Italy in two weeks and I need to make this thing actually usable for a full day of walking around without my hand cramping up or the camera swinging into a wall. I've got maybe 500 or 600 pounds left in the budget for accessories which sounds like a lot but in Leica land that's like two lens caps and a sticker lol. I just want to be able to focus on the photos instead of worrying about the gear.
Here is what I think I need but I don't know what is actually worth the money or if I should just buy third party stuff:
I am really frustrated because I want to love this camera and the images are great but the actual experience of holding it right now is just making me anxious. Do I really need the official Leica thumb support or are the cheap ones on Amazon actually okay? I dont want to ruin the finish but I also dont want to go broke before I even get to Florence. What are the actual essentials that you guys use every day because I'm drowning in options and everything is so overpriced...
