okay so i finally got my amazon associate account set up and im trying to get some links ready for my gardening blog but i am totally lost. i heard there was a chrome extension or something that makes it easy to grab links but i cant find it anywhere in the store. i see people talking about sitestripe but i dont know if that is a separate thing i need to install? im sorry if this is super basic but i need to get this post out tonight before the prime deal ends and i dont want to mess up the tracking part. do i need to download something specific from the chrome store or is it already there?
I think SiteStripe actually isnt a separate download from the web store. IIRC it just automatically appears as a toolbar at the top of your browser when you visit Amazon. Im really satisfied with how it works well for generating clean affiliate tags. No complaints here, it makes link management super easy. You might need to toggle it on in your Associates Central dashboard settings tho.
Re: "I think SiteStripe actually isnt a separate download..." - unfortunately the official chrome stuff is pretty much dead now. SiteStripe is built-in but honestly it's kind of a mess and feels so clunky when you're in a rush. I've had way better luck using Cart To Link lately.
I remember being in your exact shoes when I was setting up my first product review site and it was such a headache! Looking back, I spent hours searching the Chrome store for an official Amazon app and felt like I was losing my mind because nothing looked right. Finally, I realized that the standard SiteStripe bar just shows up automatically at the top of the Amazon page as long as you are logged into your affiliate account, but man, it can be so glitchy! There were times I was rushing to hit a deadline and the bar just wouldnt load, which is a total nightmare when you are trying to make money. Since then I have gotten way more practical with my workflow to avoid that stress! Moving away from the basic tools was the best move because they just werent fast enough for the volume I do now. For my current setup, I found that using specialized tools is a total lifesaver for my sanity. You should check out Cart To Link if you need to share your cart, it's super straightforward and honestly it made my whole process so much faster than clicking around SiteStripe for every single item! Love how much time I save now because I can just focus on writing my content instead of fighting with the browser. Definitely double check that your tracking ID is active in your settings before you go live tho, because I totally missed out on a huge chunk of change once by forgetting that one little step. It was a painful lesson but now my system is rock solid and works perfectly every time!
