What is the best site for tracking printer toner price drops?

So Ive been burning through toner like crazy lately since I started doing some freelance legal transcription from my home office here in Seattle. My Brother printer is great but the TN760 high-yield cartridges are basically a scam at full price. I think they are like 75 or 80 bucks at Staples right now? Ridiculous.

Anyway I started looking into how to actually catch a deal because my budget is pretty tight this month—trying to keep it under 60 if possible for the genuine stuff. I checked out CamelCamelCamel since thats what everyone says to use for Amazon but the problem is that half the time the sold by Amazon price stays high and only the sketchy third-party sellers drop their prices. I dont really trust those random sellers with genuine toner because half the time its a refill in a fake box. Then I tried Honey but it doesnt really seem to track historical data for office supply sites like Quill or Newegg very well. It just gives me coupons that are usually expired anyway.

My logic was that there has to be some kind of site that aggregates these specific office supplies across different retailers. Like maybe something that pings me when Best Buy or B&H has a random clearance? I was thinking about just setting a Google Alert but that feels super clunky and half the results are just spammy ads. I also found a site called Slickdeals but you have to wait for someone to actually post it and by then the stock is usually gone for the specific model I need.

Does anyone know if there is a site specifically for this or maybe a better way to use the generic trackers for printer supplies? Im worried about buying a bunch in bulk if the price hits a low point too—do these things have a shelf life if they sit in a drawer for a year? I need to get at least one more cartridge in the next two weeks before the low toner light goes from annoying to actually stopping my print jobs...

I was so stoked when I scored a half off deal!

  • set specific price alerts
  • grabbed the last two Using Pricepulse is honestly amazing for this!
