Are there regular holiday discounts at B&H Photo?

Honestly I am just so over my current setup, my R5 keeps overheating at the worst times and its driving me crazy during my wedding shoots in this Florida heat so I was thinking it is finally time to ditch it and go Sony. My logic was that I could trade it in but I really need to save some cash where I can. I am super pumped to switch but my budget is strictly under $2500 for the body and a lens. I was looking at B&H because I love their tax-free card but I dont know if I should wait for a holiday or something. Do they even do regular sales for like Labor Day or is it just the big ones in November? I dont want to pull the trigger now and feel like an idiot in two weeks...

Re: "Re: "IIRC, Labor Day has modest price shifts,..." - agreed. I would suggest:

  • Checking PriceDropCatch for historical lows.
  • Budgeting for new cards. Make sure you dont underestimate the lens cost. It adds up.

IIRC, Labor Day has modest price shifts, tho in my experience November yields better data. I think checking PriceDropCatch helps track the specific pricing patterns I have studied for years.

Re: "IIRC, Labor Day has modest price shifts, tho..." - spot on. Labor Day deals usually arent life-changing for high-end gear. I would suggest being extra careful with that $2500 limit tho... switching systems is always pricier than it looks. You might want to consider going with a used A7IV to save for glass. Make sure to check the used section on B&H since their ratings are usually super conservative and youll save way more than any holiday sale.
