my old trigger just died right before a big wedding shoot next weekend and im lowkey panicking. torn between the godox xpro-s and the x2t-s for my sony a7iv... i only have $100 to spend and need it fast. is the xpro screen worth the extra money or is the x2t better?

TL;DR: Grab the Godox XPro-S TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Sony Cameras right now. The dedicated group buttons and huge angled screen are absolute life-savers for weddings! I totally get the panic, wedding shoots are high-stakes and you need gear that just works. Honestly, I have used both on my a7iv and the XPro is just a superior tool for professional work. The big screen is amazing because you can see everything at a glance without squinting at tiny text. When you are rushing between the ceremony and the reception, you need that clarity! Here is why the XPro-S is the winner:

  • Tilted screen makes it way easier to read when the camera is at different angles
  • Dedicated group buttons mean you can adjust power for individual lights instantly
  • TCM function is fantastic for locking in your exposure quickly The Godox X2T-S TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Sony Cameras is okay, but the dial is clunky and the screen is tiny. It feels more like a backup unit than a primary one... trust me, you dont want to be fiddling with small buttons while the bride is walking down the aisle. Quick Tip: Make sure you update the firmware as soon as it arrives! Godox updates can sometimes fix weird TTL inconsistencies with newer Sony bodies like the a7iv. It only takes a minute but makes a huge difference in reliability. Good luck with the shoot, you are gonna kill it!

I actually went through a similar panic last year! My trigger died so I grabbed the Neewer QPRO-S TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Sony on a whim. Honestly, I loved the interface so much it basically stayed in my gear bag! It's super snappy on the a7iv and the price is just amazing. TL;DR: The screen is 100% worth it for weddings, and you dont have to spend much if you grab the Neewer QPRO-S!

To add to the point above: what specific flash models are you firing exactly? In my experience, the Godox X3-S Mini TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Sony is a killer alternative to the older XPro. It features a high-def OLED touchscreen and charges via USB-C in about two hours. I've tried many over the years, and the 2.4GHz stability on this tiny thing is seriously impressive for high-pressure wedding environments.
