So I just got this Panasonic S5 because my friend said it was great for video but honestly I am so lost with all these buttons and settings. I’m trying to film my sisters wedding in July and then do some travel videos while we are in Italy but the sound coming out of the camera right now is just... not good. It picks up every single breeze and when I talk it sounds like I am in a tin can or something. I’ve been looking online at microphones but there are so many types and I don’t even know what I’m looking for. Like do I need a big fluffy thing on top? Someone mentioned something about a shotgun mic which sounds kinda scary lol and then there are those tiny ones you clip on your shirt. I have about 200 dollars to spend maybe a bit more if it really makes a difference but I really just want something that I can plug in and it just works without me having to be a sound engineer or anything. Are there specific brands that work better with the S5 or does anything fit in that little hole on the side? Really sorry if this is a super basic thing but I’m just totally overwhelmed with all the options out there. What do you guys think would be the easiest and best sounding mic for someone who literally has no idea what they are doing?

Saw this just now. I would suggest Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Shotgun Microphone or <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= Sennheiser+XS+Lav+Mobile+Lavalier&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Sennheiser XS Lav Mobile Lavalier. Be careful so you dont peak.
