I recently purchased a Fujifilm X-T5 and I'm looking for a high-quality microphone to improve the audio in my videos. I mostly shoot vlogs, interviews, and some outdoor footage. I need a microphone that can effectively reduce background noise, has good directional pickup, and is compact enough to be used on-camera.

I've been considering shotgun mics and lavalier mics, but I'm open to other suggestions as well. What microphones would you recommend for the Fujifilm X-T5 that can provide excellent audio quality? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

DJI MIC 2 is the best choice.

Use some wireless microphones, such as DJI and Rode.

To add to the point about the wireless systems: Ive used plenty of them over the years, but a DIY dual-system setup is honestly the technical sweet spot for the X-T5, ngl.

  • Fuji pre-amps have a specific noise floor that becomes noticeable if you push the gain too hard, so recording 24-bit audio externally is a total game changer.
  • Using a separate field recorder allows you to bypass the camera's 3.5mm jack limitations for a much cleaner signal-to-noise ratio.

Sennheiser MKE 600 is a compact and powerful mic for X-T5.
