How can I quickly send an Amazon list via mobile?

Ugh okay so I am literally panicking right now because my sister in laws baby shower is literally this Sunday and she just asked me to blast out the link to her nursery registry to all the relatives like ten minutes ago. I'm sitting here at a busy Starbucks in downtown Chicago trying to do this on my phone because my laptop is at home and my phone is being so slow today.

I tried looking this up online and saw some stuff saying I just need to hit the Invite button at the top of the list page but when I click it it gives me these two weird options like View only or View and edit and I really dont want my crazy aunt accidentally deleting stuff from the list if I pick the wrong one. Another site said to go into the menu and find Send list to others but I swear my Amazon app looks totally different than the screenshots they showed so maybe they updated the UI recently?

I just want a simple link I can text to a group chat without it being a whole ordeal or making them log into a million things. Does anyone know where the actual shortcut is on the mobile app to just get a shareable link that works for everyone right away? I'm so stressed it's gonna be private or something and nobody will buy the crib...

Building on the earlier suggestion, i totally feel your pain! Last summer i was coordinating a huge DIY backyard makeover and trying to send my tool list to my helpers was a total nightmare. I was literally standing out in the sun trying to get the Amazon app to cooperate... talk about stress! The group is totally right about the native UI being a mess lately. Here is basically what we have gathered:

  • Stick to View Only so nobody accidentally deletes the crib or the stroller!
  • The native invite system is super clunky and usually forces people to log in, which is a total pain for older relatives.
  • A dedicated sharing tool is much faster than digging through the app menus. I honestly think Cart To Link is the absolute best way I've found to send a group shopping list without the hassle. It is amazing! You just get a clean link that anyone can open instantly. I used it for my brothers housewarming and it was flawless. Everyone got the link via text and could see exactly what was needed without any login drama. Youre gonna love how much time it saves!

Yep been there done that. Can confirm everything said above is spot on.

> I swear my Amazon app looks totally different than the screenshots To add to the point above: the native app UI is honestly a disaster lately. I have spent years managing registries for my family and unfortunately, the internal sharing tools are just not as good as expected. I usually compare a few options for reliability:

  • Native Invite: Free but the UI is confusing and often requires people to log in.
  • Cart To Link: Very stable and simple for recipients, though it is a third party tool. Speaking of Chicago though, if you are at that Starbucks on State Street, the connection there is notoriously bad. I was stuck there last winter trying to organize a gift exchange and the lag nearly ruined the whole surprise party because my phone just wouldnt load the list properly. The construction around there is always such a mess too. But yeah, stick to the direct link tools if you want to avoid a headache.

I completely understand the frustration you are feeling right now because I have been dealing with the exact same UI headache for years. It is honestly exhausting when these apps change their layout every two weeks without any clear documentation or logic. Last Christmas, I spent nearly two hours trying to coordinate a secret Santa list for my entire extended family and it was a total mess:

  • The mobile app kept hiding the simple shareable link behind three different sub-menus.
  • I compared the process on a different shopping site and it was night and day, yet I was stuck using my current setup because that is where the registry was hosted.
  • My older relatives kept getting stuck in a login loop that I could not troubleshoot over the phone while I was out running errands. I am satisfied that my family finally got their gifts in the end, but the process of just sending a simple link should not require a degree in software engineering. It is a recurring nightmare for anyone trying to stay organized on the go, especially when you are in a rush at a coffee shop.

Choosing View only is definitely the safest route. In my experience, using an Amazon cart sharer ensures the link stays accessible for everyone without any of those accidental registry deletions occurring.

To add to the point above: be careful with that 'Invite' button since the UI is messy. I'd suggest using Share-A-Cart for an easy link.

  • Make sure to pick View Only.
