So I just got my X-T5 and I'm honestly so lost with all the settings and stuff. I'm planning to use it for my sons soccer games this fall but I realized I might need more than just the camera. I have about $150 left in my budget and I was thinking maybe an extra battery since the screen uses a lot of power? But then I see everyone with these little thumb rest things and leather cases and I'm confused if those are for function or just style. My logic was to get a fast SD card but I dont even know which ones fit. What are the absolute basics I need so I dont run out of space or power mid-game?

You're gonna love that 40MP sensor, but it eats storage fast. Since you're shooting soccer, you definitely need UHS-II speeds for the buffer. This setup works well for me:

Unfortunately, those leather cases arent as good as expected for sports.

Building on the earlier suggestion, that grip really is a game changer for sports! I was in your shoes a few months back and honestly, swinging the camera around at a game gets tiring without a solid handle. Since youre watching the budget, maybe check out the Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II card? Its super reliable for the price and handles those huge 40MP files like a total champ. You definitely need to protect that screen too tho! I grabbed the SmallRig Screen Protector for Fujifilm X-T5 and its fantastic peace of mind when there are soccer balls flying everywhere... lol. Also, if the neck strap that came in the box feels itchy or stiff, the Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap is amazing because you can adjust the length in like two seconds. Youre gonna love the X-T5, its such a beast for action shots once you get the hang of the autofocus!
