so im trying to plan this big group camping trip for my buddies up in the adirondacks for late july and i have spent hours picking out specific gear. i got about $750 worth of stuff in my amazon cart right now-we're talking a 6-person tent, some specific led lanterns, and this portable propane stove that had a really good coupon on it today. my logic was that i could just copy the url from my browser tab and paste it into our group discord so everyone could see the total and give me the thumbs up before i hit buy. but everyone is clicking it and telling me it just shows them their own empty cart or like, their own random laundry detergent they forgot to buy last week.

i did some quick research and i keep seeing people mention this share-a-cart extension but honestly i am a bit sketched out by that. i read that it might be a security risk to let a plugin read my cart data so i havent tried it yet. then i saw some people saying i should just make a list but the thing is some of these items are lightning deals and i noticed that when i move them to a list the discount doesnt always look the same or show the final price with the coupon applied. i really wanted them to see the exact checkout total so we could split the cost accurately right now.

is there really no way to just send a link to a live cart? i thought maybe if i changed my account settings to public or something it would work but i cant find any setting for that. it feels like im overthinking it but it also seems crazy that i have to screenshot every single item just to show my friends what im buying for the group. am i missing some hidden share button in the cart view or is amazon just built this way to keep everything private? it's making this whole trip planning thing way more stressful than it needs to be lol...

Are you guys trying to split the cost exactly through an app, or just doing a rough venmo later? Those lightning deals on the propane stoves are a headache because they rarely show up right in shared lists... its not as good as expected for coordinating $750 worth of gear. It's super disappointing that amazon makes this so hard. Actually, Cart To Link works great for this—no more copy-pasting individual product links.

I've been planning trips for years and this used to drive me crazy! amazon carts are basically locked to your account for security, so a direct link never works for others. I finally started using a share Amazon Cart Extension and it's honestly amazing! Dont even worry about the security stuff, it solves this problem instantly. Seriously, it’s such a total game changer for group gear!

> is there really no way to just send a link to a live cart? In my experience, Amazon is pretty strict about cart privacy. ive tried many ways to bypass this over the years, but it basically comes down to cookies being tied to your specific session. Before I dive into some technical alternatives for those lightning deals, are you mostly worried about showing them the exact final price for splitting costs, or do they kinda need to see the product specs too?
