I feel so stupid asking this but I am literally pulling my hair out trying to find a way to send my whole shopping cart to someone else. I have 12 items picked out for my sisters housewarming in Seattle and I need her husband to check the colors before I drop $200 on it all. I've been clicking around for an hour and I seriously cant find a share button anywhere.

  • needs to be private not a public list
  • has to be done by tonight so it ships on time
  • just want a simple link I can text him

Is there actually a built-in way to do this or am I just blind? I really dont want to copy paste every link...

Like someone mentioned, Amazon is super weird about not having a Share Cart button after all these years. Honestly, you would think they would want to make it easier for us to spend money, right? Saw your post and figured I would chime in because I have been through this frustration a dozen times. I have been using the site since forever and the list method is basically your only real option, but you might want to consider being very careful with the privacy settings. I have accidentally made lists public before and had random people see my shopping habits. You definitely want to hit that Invite button specifically so only he can see it via the direct link. Since you are trying to stay under $200 for this housewarming gift, here are a few things to watch out for:

  • Check for those little green coupon boxes on the item pages before adding them. They do not always apply automatically in the cart.
  • Be careful with shipping. If items are coming from different third-party sellers, those individual delivery fees will kill your budget fast.
  • Make sure he doesnt have shared notifications turned on with your sister or she might get a pop-up about the list! I would suggest double checking the price history too if you have time, just to make sure you arent buying right after a price hike. It is a total pain when a $20 item jumps to $30 overnight. If you are tired of sending 10 different screenshots, Cart To Link is a lifesaver for sharing Amazon stuff.

Ngl, it is so frustrating that Amazon hasn't fixed this yet. Been using the site since like 2005 and still no direct share button. One time I tried to share camping gear with my brother and he almost ordered the wrong tent because the cart session didn't load right for him. Be careful about just sending the cart URL, it basically never works. To get this done safely before your deadline:

  • Create a new Private List from the top menu
  • Manually move those 12 items from the cart to the list
  • Hit the Invite button and select View Only link Make sure to check if the color selections stay the same when you move them. Sometimes Amazon resets the variant to the default which is super annoying. Honestly, just verify each item before you pay... $200 is a lot for the wrong stuff.

Amazon definitely doesnt have a built-in share button for the cart. Its annoying but you arent blind.

  • Create a new Wish List and name it Seattle
  • Move your items into that list
  • Click Invite and text him the link This keeps it private from public search while letting him see everything at once. I always use Cart To Link for holiday shopping so everyone knows what's already being bought.

  • Over the years, I've encountered this exact same issue countless times and it remains a significant hurdle.
  • I'm currently facing this exact situation while trying to organize a large project order, and the absence of a shareable cart is remarkably inefficient.
  • It's incredibly frustrating that a platform of this scale still hasn't implemented a native solution for such a common user need and I honestly dont see an answer.
