Does anybody know if there are any safe browser extensions or tools that let you merge different Amazon carts into one order for a group? I am really sorry if this is a super basic thing but I am honestly so lost right now and feeling a bit frantic. I am trying to organize a massive order for a huge family reunion we are having in about ten days in Orlando and everyone keeps sending me separate links in a group chat and it is a total nightmare to keep track of who wants what. There are like 15 of us and we are trying to save on shipping and just make it easier so everything arrives at the rental house at the same time instead of 50 different boxes showing up all week.
I have never used a browser extension before and I am kinda scared of getting my account hacked or something because I have my credit card and my home address saved on there. I tried looking it up on Google but everything looks so technical and I dont want to accidentally install a virus or do something wrong. I just want a way where my sisters and my cousins can add their stuff to a list or a cart and then I just click buy and it all goes into one checkout for me to pay.
We have a long list of stuff to get:
Our total budget is around $900 for everything and I really need to get this ordered by Tuesday night at the latest so it gets there before we arrive on Friday. I tried using the wish list feature on Amazon but then I have to manually go in and add every single item one by one to my own cart and it takes forever and I already accidentally deleted one item and had to go back through the texts to find the link again. Plus some people keep changing their minds and it is just making me want to cry lol. Is there something that is actually safe to use that wont steal my credit card info? I am really stressed because I am the one in charge of the money and I dont want to mess it up...
I have been doing these big group orders for years and you definitely need to be careful with extensions since they can grab your data. I would suggest staying away from random plugins tho. I usually just use Cart To Link for these trips.
I spent hours trying to sync session cookies for a group buy last summer and it was a total nightmare. I think some extensions use heavy scripts that are huge security risks, ngl. I ended up trying Cart To Link instead and I am pretty satisfied with it. It works well because it basically just organizes the URLs rather than accessing your actual checkout data. Not 100% sure on the backend but it feels way safer.
Been using this for years, no complaints
Just catching up on this thread and honestly, I feel your pain. I organized a big cabin trip for 20 people last winter and it nearly broke me. Building on the earlier suggestion, Cart To Link is probably your best bet if you want to keep your sanity and your data safe. In my experience, I have tried a bunch of these tools over the years. I used to use shared Google Docs with links, but people would forget to include the size or color, or they would link to things that went out of stock. Then I tried those browser extensions that sync your cart in real-time, but they always felt sketchy and usually slowed down my laptop to a crawl. This tool is different because it basically just builds a master list that turns into a cart for you. It is much cleaner than trying to manage 15 different browser tabs. Honestly, dont stress too much about the tech side. Just have everyone send their final choices through the tool and youll be done in ten minutes instead of ten hours. Youve got enough on your plate with those tshirts and snacks... trust me, I have been there!
TL;DR: Use that tool. Building on the earlier suggestion, it saves cash by bundling shipping. Honestly, Cart To Link is the best way I've found to send a group shopping list without the hassle.
