Im taking my A7IV to Iceland next month and need something that wont shake in the wind. I keep seeing the Peak Design travel tripod but some reviewers say its too thin and vibrates. Manfrotto 190 looks solid but its basically a lead weight. Budget is $400. What tripod actually keeps these Sony bodies stable for long exposures?

I'm always terrified of my gear tipping in Iceland gusts lol. Like someone mentioned, carbon fiber is a game changer!! I love the Leofoto LS-324C Ranger Series Carbon Fiber Tripod because it lacks a center column—way less wobble than the thin Peak Design. The Sirui AM-284 Carbon Fiber Tripod with A-10R Ball Head is another amazing, safe bet, tho the legs are slightly shorter!!

Honestly was so worried about my expensive A7IV falling over in the wind. I ended up buying the Slik Pro CF-734 8-Layer Carbon Fiber Tripod for $330 and Im very satisfied with it. It feels way more reliable than those thin travel ones. No complaints about stability during long exposures so far. Just hang your bag for extra weight... definitely helps.

  • Stick with carbon fiber legs from Benro.
  • High modulus carbon fiber is essential for dampening wind vibrations. Just get any carbon series from them, you cant go wrong.
