I'd like a portable gimbal that works well with the X-H2's size and weight. IBIS and focus pulling capabilities would be nice to have.

What are your recommendations for the best gimbal to use with the Fujifilm X-H2? I'd love to hear your experiences and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

To add to the point above: finding that sweet spot for the price is honestly the biggest hurdle! I love that youre looking at the weight too because the X-H2 can get pretty front-heavy with some of that glass. This totally reminds me of my neighbor who tried to save some cash by building his own weighted stabilizer rig out of hardware store parts last summer. It was such a wild ordeal to witness!

  • He used actual copper piping for the frame
  • Used literal bags of sand as counterweights
  • Tried to make a focus puller out of rubber bands and a plastic gear Watching him try to run through a field with that thing was the highlight of my month, seriously. It looked like he was carrying a medieval weapon more than a camera rig! Every time he took a step, you could hear the sand shifting around and the whole thing would just tilt to the left... he never did get any usable footage but man, his dedication to the DIY life was truly amazing to see lol. We still laugh about the sand-bag stabilizer whenever we're out shooting!

Ive put dozens of rigs through their paces over the years. Honestly, you dont need to drop a fortune on the latest flagship gear to get pro results with the X-H2. If youre looking to save some cash without sacrificing performance, the Zhiyun Weebill 3S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is a total beast for the price. It handles the weight of the X-H2 even with a heavier lens like the 16-55mm f2.8 easily. Motor torque is solid. Plus the SLING 2.5 grip is way better for your wrists during long shoots. The focus wheel on the Weebill is pretty tactile too, which helps if youre doing manual pulls. Another solid budget move is hunting for a discounted DJI RSC 2 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer. Even though its an older model now, the folding design is still king for portability and the stabilization algorithms are basically identical for most real-world shots. Ive found that for Fuji users, the RSC 2 communicates really well with the body for start/stop recording via USB-C. Basically youre getting 90% of the performance of the newest gear for way less money if you shop around. Let me know if you need help with the specific balancing offsets for the X-H2 grip, it can be a bit finicky at first.

DJI  RS 4 is a good choice for X-H2.
