So frustrated with my current cage blocking the battery door and this cheap monitor flickers every five minutes. I was thinking SmallRig but Tilta has that fan space... my logic was keeping it light for a wedding next month but nothing feels secure. Budget is $500, what actually stays connected?

If security is the main concern, you really cant ignore cable management. Most flickering issues arent actually the monitors fault, its usually the micro HDMI port being flimsy. I would suggest the Tilta Full Camera Cage for Fujifilm X-H2S Black TA-T36-FCC-B specifically because their cable clamps are rock solid compared to cheaper generic options. It keeps everything locked down during movement. For the display, the PortKeys PT6 5.2 Inch 4K HDMI Touchscreen Monitor is a very reliable option. Its affordable and has decent enough brightness for weddings without breaking your $500 budget. Quick tip: the biggest point of failure is that micro HDMI connection. Grab a Kondor Blue Braided HDMI to Micro HDMI High Speed 4K Cable and leave it clamped into the cage permanently. This way you arent constantly stressing the camera port. Its way safer for long-term use and ensures the signal wont drop.

honestly, i went through the same thing with the battery door issue on my old setup and it's the worst. For the X-H2S, you really gotta be careful with the SmallRig vs Tilta debate. I personally use the SmallRig Full Cage for Fujifilm X-H2S 3934 because it’s way lighter for long wedding days and keeps the battery door totally clear. The Tilta version is okay, but that fan space is kinda overkill unless you're shooting high res in the heat all day... basically it adds a lot of bulk you don't want when you're running around a reception. Regarding the monitor, stop buying those $100 specials or they'll just keep flickering. I would suggest looking at the Portkeys PT6 5.2 Inch 4K HDMI Touchscreen for a solid budget pick. It is super light and doesn't eat through batteries. You could look at the Atomos Ninja V 5.2 Inch 4K HDMI Recording Monitor, but be careful because it's way heavier and will blow your $500 budget once you add the SSD and cables. Make sure to get a decent SmallRig Monitor Mount with Cold Shoe 2905 too. If you go too cheap on the mount, the whole thing will just flop around while you are trying to move. I would suggest staying away from heavy rigs if you can help it. Just make sure the cage has the HDMI clamp included or you might ruin your camera port if the cable snags during a ceremony. Stick to a simple setup or your arms are gonna be dead by the cake cutting.

Totally agree on those cable clamps, basically essential for Fuji. My old setup once lost a whole ceremony segment because the micro-HDMI wiggled loose. Check out the 8Sinn Cage for Fujifilm X-H2S since it keeps the battery door completely clear. Pair that with a Portkeys PT6 5.2 Inch 4K HDMI Touchscreen Monitor to stay under budget. It handles 10-bit signals better than generic ones and stays bright.
