What is the easiest way to share my Amazon cart with someone without having to manually move every single item to a separate wishlist first? Seriously I am so hyped right now because I finally picked out all the gear for my brothers new PC setup for his 21st birthday next month and I have like 23 items sitting in my cart ready to go but my wife needs to look at the budget before I drop the 850 bucks on it all. I have been using Amazon since like 2012 and I feel like an absolute noob because I cant find a simple share button anywhere in the cart view. Usually I am the one fixing tech stuff for my family but this has me stumped lol.

I know I could probably do a Wish List or an Idea List but thats such a pain to move every single SKU one by one when they are already sitting right there in the cart. Is there some kind of browser extension or a hidden mobile feature I am missing? I tried looking in the app too but no luck. I even tried to just screenshot it but the list is so long I have to take like five different scrolling screenshots and it looks like a mess and half the prices get cut off anyway.

I am in San Francisco so I was thinking maybe there is some beta feature I can toggle? I saw some old Reddit thread about a Share-A-Cart extension but I am always a little wary about giving extensions access to my shopping data if I dont have to. Does anyone use that or is there a legit native way now? I just want her to be able to see the exact items and the quantities because I got a couple of those dual-monitor arms and some specific cable sleeves that I dont want her to double-purchase. It would be awesome if she could just click a link and see everything I have staged...

Amazon lacks a native share button. Third party tools are the most efficient way.

  • use cart exporters Theres a neat extension called Cart To Link that basically turns your cart into a link.

I spent weeks picking out parts for a home server build last year and had the same headache trying to show my partner the damage before hitting buy. Amazon still doesnt have a native share button for the cart, which is wild for a tech giant. I ended up using Share-A-Cart because the wishlist route is a nightmare for that many items. Basically, you install the extension, it grabs everything in your cart, and gives you a link you can text her. She clicks it and it populates her cart. It handles the quantities too so those monitor arms wont get messed up. Here is how I would weigh the options:

  • Share-A-Cart extension: Super fast and generates a simple URL. The downside is giving it permissions, but I usually just install it, send the link, and delete it immediately. It is definitely the most efficient way to keep the specific SKUs intact.
  • Wishlists: This is the official way but moving 23 items one by one is soul-crushing. I tried this for my kids birthday list once and gave up after item five. It is just too clunky.
  • Print to PDF: If you are really worried about data privacy, just hit Ctrl+P on the cart page and save it as a PDF. It keeps the prices clear and readable, though she wont be able to click through the items easily. Personally, I would just go with the extension for a one-time use... it makes the budget talk way smoother when they can see the actual product pages for themselves.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I totally get being wary about your data. I went through this exact thing when I was ordering parts for my workshop upgrade last year and I'm usually the guy who reads every single line of a privacy policy before clicking accept. I compared a few of these tools because I didnt want some random script having access to my saved credit cards. Most extensions are honestly a bit invasive, but Cart To Link felt way safer than the alternatives like Share-A-Cart because it doesnt ask for your Amazon login. I would suggest following these steps just to be safe:

  • Open your cart in a private browser window first
  • Only then run the tool to generate your link
  • Make sure to verify the quantities for those monitor arms are right before she pays Its much better than taking a bunch of messy screenshots. Just be careful with any tool that asks you to sign in through their own popup... definitely steer clear of those. This one is pretty legit tho and should save you the massive headache of moving 23 items manually.

Like someone mentioned, Cart To Link is basically the gold standard for this stuff! I have been doing this for a decade and its amazing how much time it saves when you are coordinating big purchases like a whole PC build. I love how it keeps everything synced so your wife sees exactly what you see. I want to add a quick warning tho because when you are dealing with 850 dollars worth of gear, even a tiny mistake in the cart can be a total nightmare to fix after you hit buy. Reliability is everything when you are building a rig for someone else:

  • Watch out for regional price fluctuations if you wait too long between sharing and buying.
  • Double check that the quantities didnt reset during the link generation process.
  • Avoid manual copy-pasting because you always miss a SKU or a specific cable sleeve. Using a dedicated tool is way more reliable than manual screenshots which always seem to cut off the taxes or shipping costs anyway. Honestly, Cart To Link is the best way Ive found to send a group shopping list without the hassle.

> I was thinking maybe there is some beta feature I can toggle? I think I read somewhere that Amazon is testing a Buy for Me link, tho I am not 100% sure if it is live in SF yet! Managing an 850 dollar budget requires precision, so finding a direct link method is fantastic for avoiding costly mistakes. It keeps everything professional and organized. I found this thing called Cart To Link a while back and it's perfect for when my wife asks what I'm buying.
