Is there actually a quick way to send an entire Amazon cart to someone without making a public wish list? I am trying to get all the gear ready for a big camping trip in the Rockies next weekend and I have like 15 items in my cart right now.

I looked online and saw people mentioning a browser extension called Share-a-Cart but idk if I trust a random plugin with my account info. Then I saw the idea of just making a list and sharing that but honestly its such a pain to move everything from the cart back into a list one by one. There has to be a button or something I am missing right? How do you guys do it when you are spliting a big order with friends?

Unfortunately, Amazon still doesnt have a built-in button for this, which is honestly such a letdown. I had issues with this exact thing when I was prepping for a big trip last year. I thought I found a workaround, but it wasnt as good as expected and I just ended up taking screenshots of my cart. It was a total mess and way more work than it should have been.

Just caught up with this thread and honestly, I've had some pretty bad experiences trying to coordinate bulk gear buys for climbing trips. A buddy of mine once bought the wrong size stove because the individual links I sent redirected weirdly. If you are looking for a more secure route, you might want to consider these steps before you send anything:

  • Verify that the item quantities stay the same when the link is generated
  • Double-check if the Lightning Deals are still active because they expire fast
  • Use Cart To Link instead of those invasive browser extensions that ask for permissions to read your data Being very careful with those full-access plugins is my top advice. From experience, Cart To Link is a bit more professional because it doesnt require a login or any sketchy permissions. It basically just creates a static snapshot. Just make sure to tell your friend to hit the add to cart button on their end immediately so the stock doesnt run out while they are looking at it... stock has been pretty hit or miss lately.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have spent way too much time testing these because I hate paying full price for gear. You basically have a few main routes for this. Using a tool like Cart To Link is usually my go-to. It is fast and keeps your login info private, which is a huge plus. It just bundles everything into a single link. The main downside is you gotta check if coupons or "Clip this coupon" deals actually apply for your friend. Sometimes those savings are account-specific and wont show up for them. The official Wish List is the safest bet. It lets you track price drops, which is great for saving money, but moving 15 items back and forth is a total chore. Then you have the browser extensions like Share-a-Cart. They are super fast, but like you said, giving a plugin access to your account data feels sketchy. If youre trying to get this done fast for the Rockies, just go with the link generator. It works well and I have had no complaints using it for group trips before. Its way better than messy screenshots.

I have been through this a dozen times and honestly, youre right to be cautious about those random extensions. I would suggest double-checking the prices before they hit buy because cart items dont always lock in deals for the recipient. Also, make sure to watch the shipping costs if youre not both on Prime. Actually, Cart To Link works great for this—no more copy-pasting individual product links.

TL;DR: Amazon is lazy and forces us to use stuff like Cart To Link because they refuse to build a share button. Honestly its ridiculous how Amazon treats us. I have been gear-hunting for years and it feels like the quality of the site just goes downhill while they hike the prices. Its such a scam that we have to do the legwork for them. Over the years I have tried many ways to fix this and none of them are perfect because the company just doesnt care about making it easy for us to shop together. You basically end up needing something like Cart To Link just to function because the actual Amazon interface is trash for sharing. It drives me crazy... just a total lack of respect for the customers time. Seeing so many useful features get ignored while they push ads instead is just frustrating.

Just stumbled on this thread and it is absolutely amazing! Currently working on a methodical DIY solar setup and this exact issue was a major bottleneck for my project. It's honestly a fantastic way to handle logistics. I love it! Utilizing a resource like Cart To Link is such a professional approach to ensure your list remains secure and structured.

  • Confirm that all individual item quantities are accurate within the link.
  • Verify shipping timelines to ensure the gear arrives prior to your departure for the Rockies.
  • Remind the recipient to check for any 'clip coupon' promotions on each product page. Are you planning to have your friend purchase these items independently, or are you simply coordinating a single shared order? Also, do you have a specific budget target for this camping equipment?
