im in a huge rush because my sisters birthday is friday and i need to get this order in tonight for the shipping to arrive on time. i have about $150 of stuff in my amazon cart but i need my mom to double check it before i pay so we can split it. is there a way to just send the actual bag link?? im torn between:

  • making a separate wish list and moving everything
  • trying one of those cart sharing browser extensions

the wish list thing feels so slow and i dont have time for that plus my budget is strict $200. has anyone used an extension for this or is there a hidden button i dont see...

Amazon basically stores your cart in a session cookie or links it directly to your account ID on their servers, so there is literally no magic button to just copy-paste a URL for someone else to see your specific cart. It is so annoying right!! Honestly, dont waste time with the wish list route if you're in a hurry because it forces you to re-add everything one by one. I use an extension called Share-A-Cart all the time and it is seriously a lifesaver! It basically scrapes the item IDs from your current session and generates a unique code that your mom can just plug in on her end. It is super fast and bypasses the whole manual list creation mess. Plus, it is way more reliable for staying under that 200 budget since you can see the subtotal live before you send it off. Just make sure she has the extension too or it wont work as smoothly!!

Quick reply while I have a sec. In my experience, trying to screenshot a whole Amazon cart is the absolute worst because you always miss the taxes or shipping costs. I've tried many different hacks over the years to split costs with my family, and moving everything to a wishlist is just way too slow when you're on a deadline like this. Honestly, using Cart To Link is the way to go whenever I'm in this spot. It is super straightforward and keeps things moving.

  • Open your cart with all the items ready.
  • Generate the custom link.
  • Send it over so your mom sees the exact subtotal. It is way better than manually typing out prices to stay under that $200 limit. Ngl, it saved me so much stress last Christmas. Hope you get the order in on time tho!

Wishlists arent always the most reliable move. Ive been really satisfied using secure tools that dont need your login info. A couple questions tho:

  • Does she need to see the final tax total?
  • Is she using a phone or a computer to check? It works well for me. Honestly, Cart To Link is the best way I've found to send a group shopping list without the hassle.
