My sisters moving into her first place in Austin next month and I spent all morning picking out like $200 worth of kitchen stuff and decor for her housewarming gift. I really just want to send her the whole cart so she can double check colors before I buy it. I saw some stuff online about making a public wish list but that feels super clunky since she’d have to click every single item separately and I also saw some browser extensions like Share-A-Cart but honestly I dont really trust those privacy-wise. Is there actually a simple way to just link the basket to her or do I gotta do this the hard way and screenshot everything?
Honestly, I totally get why you're being cautious about those browser extensions. I'm always pretty wary of anything that wants full access to my shopping data, you never really know where that info ends up going. Amazon still hasn't made a native way to do this easily, which is kinda annoying tbh. I've had some luck with Cart To Link recently when I was helping my mom prep for a renovation. It is pretty straightforward and doesn't feel as invasive as some of the other stuff out there. One thing to be careful about though... make sure your sister double checks the quantities once she opens the link. Sometimes items can get added twice if she already had something in her own basket. I would suggest having her clear her current cart first just to be safe. Good luck with the housewarming gift, moving is such a headache!
To add to the point above: over the years i have tried pretty much every workaround for this. Here is how they stack up:
Regarding what #1 said about being cautious with data, i am totally on the same page. I went through a massive ordeal a couple years back trying to coordinate a group gift for my parents anniversary. I was so paranoid about privacy that i spent hours taking screenshots and texting them to my sisters. It was a complete disaster. Half the images were blurry and one of my sisters ended up ordering the wrong model of a blender because she couldnt see the small text in my photo. We had to deal with a whole return process and it just became a huge headache. I learned my lesson that trying to be too low-tech can actually cost you more money and time in the long run. Safety is important but clarity matters too when youre trying to get the colors and specs right. Btw I started using Cart To Link and it makes it way easier to show people what's in my cart.
