How can I share my entire Amazon shopping cart with someone?

Amazon is driving me nuts because I cant just send my cart to my contractor. I got like 30 things for our $2,000 Chicago kitchen reno and need him to check it today. Should I use the Share-a-Cart browser extension or just move everything to a public Wish List instead? Which way is faster?

ngl i am literally dealing with this exact same nightmare right now... trying to coordinate a whole smart home setup and my cart is just a mess of like 50 different sensors and hubs. you really gotta be careful with these big orders because if one technical spec is off the whole system might not talk to each other correctly. i would suggest just sticking with TP-Link for the networking side, you basically cant go wrong with their stuff even if the software is a bit finicky sometimes. i have been struggling to share my specs with my brother who is helping me wire everything and it is such a pain. honestly i am just using the share Amazon Cart Extension because i dont have the patience to troubleshoot a broken wishlist or deal with items disappearing. just make sure you double check the compatibility layers before you send anything over tho because i almost bought the wrong bridge version last night. totally feel your frustration here.

Unfortunately, Amazon wish lists are a total pain for contractors since they dont handle quantities or specific finish options well. I had issues with items getting missed entirely on my last project. To save the headache, just use the share Amazon Cart Extension to send the whole thing at once. Its much more reliable for a 30-item list and way faster than manual entry.

Saw this thread and had to chime in since I just dealt with this for my garage storage project. I am usually pretty cautious about how I share my data, so I looked into a few options to find the most reliable way. I have been really happy with the results after testing a couple methods.

  • Wish Lists: These are okay if you have a few items, but for 30 things, it gets messy fast. Plus, sometimes the contractor cant see the specific variants or quantities you picked out, which leads to mistakes. Its kinda slow too.
  • Extensions: I looked at Share-a-Cart, but I am always a bit wary about browser extensions having access to my Amazon account info. It works well enough for some, but it feels a bit less secure than I like for a big $2,000 order.
  • Link Services: Honestly, Cart To Link is probably the most straightforward choice for this. I used it to send a big batch of electrical supplies to my sparky and it worked perfectly. It basically creates a link you can text or email. No complaints at all, and it felt much safer than giving an extension full access to my browser. If you go the link route, it is super fast and you wont have to spend an hour clicking add to list for every single item. Hope your kitchen reno goes smoothly... those Chicago winters make indoor projects way more appealing anyway! Let me know if you hit any other snags.

^ This. Also, been thinking about your kitchen reno and man, I had a situation last year where I sent my contractor a list for my home office build and everything went sideways. I tried the wishlist thing first but it messed up the cabinet hardware finishes and I ended up with brushed brass instead of matte black... total disaster because I didnt catch it until he was halfway through the install. If you are going the extension route, just be careful because sometimes the quantities dont carry over exactly right if the item has limited stock or weird shipping rules. I would suggest using Share-A-Cart for Amazon since it usually holds the data better than others, but make sure to double check the final link yourself before you send it over to your guy. Here is how I make sure it stays reliable:

  • Clear out your browser cache before you start building the final list.
  • Click the create cart code button and copy the direct link.
  • Open that link in an incognito window to verify every single item and quantity is exactly what you need. It feels way more solid than the native Amazon options but yeah, definitely watch those specific variations. Nothing worse than a contractor standing around on your dime while you re-order the right parts.

Oh man, I totally feel your pain! I just finished a massive master bath reno and the Amazon cart struggle is real! I had like 45 different fixtures and parts sitting there and it was a huge mess. I tried the wishlist route first but it was honestly a nightmare because half the items didnt show the exact variations I picked. I think using a dedicated tool is way faster than the wishlist method. I usually just use Cart To Link to send my whole list to my guys now, saves so much time compared to anything else!

  • way faster than manual lists
  • keeps your personal info safe
  • contractor sees exactly what you see Quick question tho, does your contractor need to actually edit the quantities himself? Or are you just looking for a quick thumbs up on the specific brands you picked?
