Im moving into my first apartment in Chicago next Tuesday and honestly im totally overwhelmed with everything I need to buy. My sister offered to help pay for a few things like a toaster and some towels but I have about 15 items in my cart right now and I cant find any button to just share the list with her.

I tried copying the web address at the top while I was looking at my basket but when I sent it to her she said it just showed her own empty cart. Sorry if this is a super basic thing but I have no clue what im doing. Is there a way to just send her a link so she can see exactly whats in my cart and pay for it?

I ran into the same issue when I was trying to coordinate a gift list with my parents last year. Amazon doesnt let you share the direct cart link because of privacy settings. I ended up using Cart To Link to get around it since it just converts your basket into a link others can actually see. It worked pretty well and saved me from having to screenshot everything individually.

Omg, congrats on the move!! Chicago is seriously amazing, though moving is such a total headache lol. To add to the point above: the reason your link didnt work is because Amazon stores your cart in your private browser session. Its basically locked to your specific login so nobody else can see it for security reasons. Since you have a ton of stuff like the toaster and towels, honestly just use Cart To Link! I found it a few months ago and its fantastic because:

  • it bundles every single item into one link
  • your sister wont have to search for each item manually
  • it saves so much time when you're already overwhelmed It basically grabs your items and makes a shareable page for her to see. If you dont want to use a tool, the only other real option is making a public Wishlist, but that takes forever to add 15 things one by one. Stick with the link generator, it makes life way easier when you're busy packing!!

short answer is no, you basically cant do it through their site. honestly it is so frustrating that after all these years amazon still hasnt fixed this. i have been using them forever and it has only gotten more complicated. it drives me crazy that they expect us to jump through hoops just to give them money. here is the reality of shopping for a new place:

  • prices for basic goods are absolutely criminal now
  • half the products are just generic junk with fake reviews
  • the interface is a mess that hides helpful features i moved recently and it was a nightmare trying to coordinate with my family for the kitchen stuff. you would think a massive company would have a simple share button by now but nope. its such a scam. anyway, congrats on the chicago move. btw i started using Cart To Link and it makes it way easier to show people whats in my cart.
