Look sorry if this is a really stupid question but I am literally freaking out right now because my sisters baby shower is this Saturday and I am in charge of all the decorations and supplies. I have like 22 items in my Amazon cart right now and I really need her to look at them before I spend the $250 but I cant for the life of me figure out how to just send her a link to the whole thing so she can see it.
I looked all over the screen and there is no share button or anything like that like you see on other sites. I tried copying the web address at the top of my browser and texting it to her but she said it just opened her own empty cart on her phone which makes no sense to me. This is so frustrating because I dont want to take screenshots of every single item one by one and send her dozens of pictures because that would take forever and she is super busy at work. Is there some kind of trick or a hidden button to make a shareable link so she can just see what I picked? I feel so tech illiterate right now honestly lol. I have no idea where to start and I really need to order these items tonight so they get here to Chicago by Friday morning or the whole party is ruined. How do I let her see my cart items without giving her my password?
Ugh, I totally feel your pain. This is one of those things that really should be easier, but after years of using Amazon for event planning, I can tell you there is definitely no direct share cart button. In my experience, carts are tied strictly to your browser cookies and account, so your sister is just seeing her own empty one when she clicks your link. The trick I always use is moving everything into a List. It sounds like extra work, but it is much faster than screenshots. Just hit the move to list or add to list button on every item in your cart. Once they are all in a new list, you can set it to shared and send her that specific link. I have done this for countless parties and it works every time... plus it keeps things organized if you need to buy more stuff later. Hope you get those decorations to Chicago on time!
Re: "Late to the party here but I've dealt..."
In my experience auditing hardware manifests, I have tested several ways to bridge the gap between session-based carts and external viewers. The issue is basically that Amazon doesnt allow public access to private UID data for security reasons. Over the years, I've found these three options are the most reliable:

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone chiming in. Super helpful discussion.
To add to the point above: I totally agree that finding a reliable way to do this is a total game changer!! I am usually so nervous about clicking weird links or sharing my account info because I really value my privacy and safety online. But I had this exact same stress last year for my cousins graduation party and I was honestly panicking about it. I found that using this site made everything feel so much more secure and official. I love it because I didnt have to worry about my sister accidentally seeing my saved credit card info or anything like that while we were trying to coordinate the decorations. It was seriously amazing how much stress it took off my shoulders! Honestly, I just want to know that my stuff is gonna show up on time and that my account stays safe, so these kinds of workarounds are fantastic. Good luck with the baby shower decorations, it sounds like its gonna be a blast!
Just saw this and had to jump in because I have encountered this exact data persistence issue when managing procurement for my home lab projects. It is a recurring frustration when dealing with session-specific architectures that dont allow for external visibility. When I was setting up my current rack system last year, I faced a similar hurdle with about 15 different components. I spent a lot of time analyzing why the standard URLs wouldnt resolve for others. My findings were pretty clear:
Like someone mentioned, that whole list-making process is such a drag. I tried doing it for my brothers wedding last summer and I was so disappointed because the Amazon interface just felt so clunky and slow when I was moving dozens of items. It took way longer than it should have and honestly made me want to give up on the whole thing... it was super frustrating. I think I ended up using Cart To Link because I heard it was way faster for bulk sharing. I am not entirely sure, but I recall someone saying that sometimes the links can be a bit buggy on mobile browsers? IIRC it worked fine for me but you might want to double check it. It definitely beats the native options which are just subpar in terms of performance. Just be careful because I think I heard those shared links can expire after a while, though I am not totally positive on that. Still way better than the screenshot nightmare though, tbh.
Late to the party here but I've dealt with this exact headache more times than I can count while ordering tech gear for my office. The reason that URL failed is because Amazon stores cart data in your local session cookies and server-side cache linked to your specific UID. It is not a static page that anyone else can access. Before I give you the full breakdown, are you working from a desktop or the mobile app? The navigation for managing these things is wildly different depending on the OS and I want to make sure I am giving you the right clicks for your screen. In my experience, you have two real options to get this done fast so you can hit that shipping window:
