Im honestly so frustrated with the price of native Z glass right now its actually insane. I just picked up a Z8 and spent way too much so I need a Tamron lens that wont break the bank for my trip to Yellowstone in two weeks. Im stuck between the 150-500mm for the Z mount or just getting the 70-180mm and hoping the crop is enough but I really need the reach for wolves and stuff. I also looked at the 150-600mm G2 with an adapter but people say the autofocus is slow and I cant be missing shots. Budget is strictly under 1300 bucks. Which of these is gonna give me the sharpest shots for the money?

TL;DR: Grab the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD for Nikon Z. Be careful with the slow aperture, but I would suggest going native. Much more reliable. You'll love Yellowstone!

I've been doing some reading and you might want to be careful with adapted lenses for fast wildlife. I would suggest checking the compatibility lists on the Tamron website or reading reviews on DPReview to be safe. The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD for Nikon Z is probably the more stable choice for the Z8. Make sure to check your tripod weight limit, since that reach makes shake really noticeable.
