finally heading to Tokyo next month and I am beyond hyped! Im torn between the Tamron 28-200mm and the 28-75mm G2 though.
My budget is $800 max and I gotta travel light. One has that crazy range but the G2 is better for low light street stuff... which is best for a solo trip?

Just caught this thread. I brought the Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD to Osaka last year and honestly, be careful with that f/5.6 aperture at the long end once the sun drops. You might want to consider these specs:
- Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD: Versatile range, but variable aperture affects ISO performance.
- Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2: Better VXD motor and consistent f/2.8 light intake.
