I just bought this Sony camera for my trip to the Grand Canyon next month and I realized the battery lasts like no time at all lol. Im super new to this and honestly i have no idea where to even start because when I look on amazon there are so many brands and some are like 15 dollars and others are 80 and I dont want to fry my new camera or anything. My budget is like maybe 100 bucks for everything and I really need a wall charger too since it didnt come with one. Is it safe to buy those third party ones or should I stick to the official Sony stuff? Im kinda lost here... what brands are actually good?

Get the Wasabi Power Sony NP-FZ100 Battery 2-Pack and Charger. Its reliable and fits your budget. Reputable third-party brands are safe and wont fry your camera gear.

Regarding what #1 said about "Get the Wasabi Power Sony NP-FZ100 Battery 2-Pack..." - those are okay for a budget, but honestly I've been way more satisfied with the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery and Charger Kit. I learned the hard way that super cheap batteries can swell up and get stuck in the slot, which is totally terrifying when you're out in the field. I've used this set for over a year now and no complaints. The charger is super slim and works via USB, so you can even top them off in your car on the way to the trailhead. I've found these hold their charge better in the heat too, which youll deal with at the Grand Canyon. Plus, they actually show the battery percentage correctly on the screen unlike some bottom-barrel brands that just show a bar. Definitely worth it for the peace of mind.

stumbled on this late but honestly if you care about reliability and data, look at the Nitecore USN4 Pro Dual Slot USB Quick Charge Charger. it actually shows you the battery health and how many mAh are being pushed into the cells in real-time. super helpful for monitoring if a battery is starting to fail before it causes issues. pair that with a Watson NP-FZ100 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack. they are basically the industry standard for reliable third-party power. quick tip though... always look for batteries that stay close to the original 2280mAh rating. if a brand claims like 3000mAh in that same tiny form factor, they are definitely exaggerating the specs and the cell quality wont be as stable. stick to the rated specs for better longevity and safety.
