What are the must-have accessories for the Panasonic Lumix GH5?

I've been shooting with the G7 for years and finally upgraded to the GH5 for that 10-bit color, but man, I'm realizing my old workflow is totally inadequate for the freelance gig I have booked in three weeks. It's a wedding in humid Savannah and I'm starting to panic about the battery situation. My logic was that I could just carry a pocket full of spares like I always do, but this thing eats through power way faster than I expected when I'm pushing the 4K bitrates.

I've got about $500 to $600 left to spend on rigging this thing out. I'm looking at cages or maybe a top handle because the ergonomics feel a bit cramped for low-angle shots, but then I wonder if I should prioritize a monitor or better media. I grabbed some V30 cards but I've heard they might fail on the All-I settings which would be a disaster mid-ceremony. Also, is the DMW-XLR1 adapter worth the splurge or should I stick to a dedicated field recorder? I'm trying to keep the weight down because of the heat but I need it to be a reliable workhorse.

What are the absolute essentials you guys find yourself actually using on every shoot? I don't want to buy a bunch of junk I'll never use...

I'd be real careful with those V30 cards for the All-I settings, they might just cut out on you mid-vow. Since you've got a budget, maybe look at:

Congrats on the upgrade, tho honestly, the GH5 is a total power hog compared to the G7. I had issues with mine during a long shoot last summer and it was frustrating how fast it died once I started pushing the 10-bit files. You definitely need to swap those V30 cards out. I tried running All-I on slower media and the recording just cut out mid-clip, which was a total nightmare. Seriously, grab at least two Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II V60 cards so you dont have to worry about data bottlenecks. Regarding the audio, the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter is pricey but it's a lifesaver for weddings. I used to mess with field recorders, but syncing audio in post is a drag when you have hours of footage. It mounts right on the hot shoe and makes the setup way more professional, even if it adds some height. For ergonomics, I'd go with the SmallRig GH5 Cage 2646 paired with a SmallRig Top Handle 1638. It makes those low-angle ceremony shots way easier on your wrists. Since you're worried about the Savannah heat, maybe avoid a full monitor for now as they just drain more power and add weight. Just stick to the onboard screen and spend the rest on a few extra Panasonic DMW-BLF19PP Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery packs. Third-party batteries have unfortunately been really unreliable for me lately. You got this, just keep the setup lean!
