ugh i am so over the built-in mic on my GH6 it sounds like garbage with all that background hiss. i need a real external setup before my hike next week or i might just give up on the audio entirely.
- budget is around 300 bucks
- needs to be compact for travel
- must handle wind well
any ideas for what actually works with this camera?

Grab the Deity V-Mic D4 Mini Compact On-Camera Microphone! It is a total lifesaver for travel because it is tiny and super cheap, plus it handles wind like a champ. You will love it!

Honestly, the internal preamps on the GH6 aren't doing you any favors with that hiss. In my experience, you'll want something with a dedicated gain control to keep the camera levels low.
