So I finally pulled the trigger on a GH6 for a big wedding gig I got coming up in Seattle next month but man picking a cage is stressing me out. I keep seeing the SmallRig Black Mamba everywhere and it looks slick but I saw a couple reviews saying it makes the top dial really hard to use if you have big hands which I definitely do. Then there is the Tilta one but people say it feels way too bulky for handheld work which is like 90% of what I do. I have about 300 bucks to spend on the whole rig setup including a handle maybe. If you had to pick the top three essential cage systems for this camera what would they be because I am stuck between like five different brands right now...

I keep seeing the SmallRig Black Mamba everywhere and it looks slick but I saw a couple reviews saying it makes the top dial really hard to use if you have big hands Valid concern, the Mamba is tight. I would suggest the SmallRig Cage for Panasonic LUMIX GH6 3784 instead; it has way more clearance for the top dial. Also look at the 8Sinn Cage for Panasonic GH6 since their ergonomics are spot on. Lastly, the Tilta Full Camera Cage for Panasonic GH6 Black is tank-like, but might be too heavy for long handheld wedding days... just be careful with the total rig weight.

I have been super satisfied with my GH6 setup lately because i prioritize reliability and safety over everything else. You dont want a handle or cage coming loose during a high-stakes wedding gig in the middle of a ceremony. Since you mentioned the big hands issue, skip the Mamba and check these out instead.

Honestly the standard SmallRig 3784 Full Cage for Panasonic LUMIX GH6 is the way to go if you have big hands. Its way more spacious than the mamba and works well for weddings. I also really like the Nitze GH6 Camera Cage with PE21 Cable Clamp because its kinda low profile but feels great handheld. If you want top tier ergonomics, the 8Sinn Cage for Panasonic GH6 is super comfortable too. No complaints here.
